These are common conditions requiring emergency attention: 

  • Colic
  • Lacerations
  • Eye injuries
  • Non-weight-bearing lameness especially with leg swelling
  • Esophageal obstruction (choke)
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Severe diarrhea
  • Severe pain or collapse/falling
  • Fever
  • Poison exposure (suspected or observed)
  • Venom injection (snake or spider bites)
  • Trouble breathing or continuous coughing
One of four veterinarians is always on call, 24/7. As we rotate emergency duty and nights on-call, one of us (Drs. Peralez, Brown, Jones and our emergency associate, Dr. Susan Bauer) is always available by phone. Calling either of our phone lines after hours will get you straight to our answering service. They will send us your message immediately. If you don’t hear from us within 20 minutes, please call back. Our veterinarians may already be at an emergency or may temporarily be out of phone range. Please be patient. Our promise to our clients is that one of our vets will call you as soon as possible.
